We're three old Friends who play music together.

It all started with beer and acoustic guitars, Ali and Mat in the halcyon days of Oxfordshire back in 2011. We lived round the corner from each other and gradually started to play music and write songs together. We recorded an album called Postcards from home, really for ourselves, but were really proud of it so decided to give it a proper release.

Ali’s old mate Ollie played cello on most of the tracks, giving it some bottom end refinement (?!), and ended up joining the band as a full time member. The music is an acoustic blend of harmonies and melodies, mostly based around the classic line up (patent applied for) of two acoustic guitars, two voices and a cello, but with a liberal amount of ukuleles, piano’s, French horns and really anything else we think sounds good chucked in there!

We’re really a studio based outfit, though not afraid to play live if the mood takes us.

Just as Postcards was released, Ali moved away from the Oxfordshire base of The Intention Craft. It became a bit more difficult to get together to write, but we never stopped, and as we get into 2018, we’ve just finished out second album, Satellites; released 29/03/2018, and we’re really excited about it.

There’s a couple more ‘associate’ members of the band on the record, with Rachael playing some lilting clarinet, and Fred banging some drums.

We're named The Intention Craft (or TIC for short!) after a flying machine in an amazing book. The Amber Spyglass is the last part of Philip Pullman's trilogy, His Dark Materials. If you've not read it, we highly recommend it... well, those band members who have read it do, not all of them have!

The machine is powered by your intentions, as the quote goes;

"What powers it?" she said.

"Your intentions", he said.

"Hence the name. If you intend to go forward, it will go forward."

This struck a chord with us, we intend to go forward!
